Maiden Center

The rural setting is what sets Adult Life Programs’ Maiden Center apart. Located at the Catawba Valley Baptist Church off Buffalo Shoals Road, the Maiden Center is the only center in a rural area of Catawba County.  In operation since 2002, the center is licensed for 24 participants and consistently maintains good attendance. 

This use of adult day care in a rural setting is a testimonial to the widespread need for adult day care in our community.

FOCUS

Participants have a wide range of needs and the Maiden Center’s focus is to concentrate on their day-to-day necessities and activities.   

FACILITIES and SERVICES

Daily activities include visits from community volunteers,

pet therapy, exercise, mental stimulation activities, cooking, music, crafts and one of the favorites at the Maiden Center, “porch sitting" and visiting.

STAFF

The Maiden staff includes:

Barbie White, Day Services Manager.  She has worked for Adult Life Programs for the past ten years.  Barbie says, “When I go home at the end of the day, I feel like I have made a difference in someone’s life.  I enjoy our participants and have great compassion for the struggles they face daily.”

The other four staff at the Maiden site can also boast of longevity with Adult Life Programs, with 20 years of combined service.
