Caregiver Support and Education
FOCUS
Caregiver Support and Education is a component of Adult Life Programs that provides consultation, education, training and technical assistance to staff who care for adults with mental illness at nursing homes, adult care homes and family care homes. Caregiver Support and Education also provides these services to caregivers of adults with mental illnesses who are at risk of moving from their own home to a long-term care facility or at risk of psychiatric hospitalization.
THE TEAM
The Caregiver Support and Education team consists of a psychiatric nurse, a Master’s prepared therapist and a qualified mental health professional who provide these supports and educational opportunities to those located in Alexander, Burke, Caldwell, Catawba and McDowell counties.
