"Caregiving often calls us to lean into love we didn't know possible."
~Tia Walker, The Inspired Caregiver
OUR STAFF
The staff of Adult Life Programs is what sets us apart as a quality organization, and they work diligently to provide a safe, fun-loving, therapeutic environment. The low participant-to-staff ratio (6:1 at Adult Day Health Center and 8:1 at Adult Day Care Centers) provides one-on-one attention as needed, and allows staff to learn and celebrate participants' interests, hobbies, skills and needs.
Adult Life Program staff experience high levels of training in the following areas:CPR, First Aid, blood borne pathogens, medication administration, confidentiality and HIPAA privacy laws, patient transfers, fire safety, cultural diversity, defensive driving, client rights, person-centered planning, person-centered thinking, elder abuse, environmental safety, therapeutic boundaries, Alzheimer’s disease and introduction to mental health.

In addition, individual staff members are trained in their specific areas of interest. For example, some staff are trained in "TimeSlips" (visit www.timeslips.org for more information), a nationally recognized small group storytelling process designed for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease. This type of training is encouraged to develop their personal interests and talents to enhance our centers’ environments.
